01 / WHAT IT IS

What a brow lift is

A brow lift is the ideal surgery for cases like brow ptosis from ageing, mainly on the external angle, as well as volume loss on the forehead and the upper regions of the face.

This surgical procedure lifts droopy eyebrows and reduces or removes frown lines on the forehead, as well as forehead furrows. It can reverse the upper facial features that give the impression of an aged and tired-looking appearance, while they may even cause visual problems.

There is a wide collection of available techniques for a brow lift and at Geoplasty Plastic Surgery we can discuss which will be the ideal one for you.

02 / THE PROCEDURE

How a brow lift is performed

01

Preoperative check-up

A preoperative check-up is performed before the procedure.

02

Small incisions

During surgery, several small incisions are performed behind the hairline.

03

Special endoscope

Through a special endoscope, the doctor accesses the forehead fascia, so that he can firm and reposition the underlying tissue in its original position.

04

Fat, skin and sutures

In some cases, excess fat and skin may be trimmed away to get the desired result. In other cases, excess fat may be added to restore possible tissue volume loss.

The incisions are closed with sutures and a bandage is applied.

03 / RECOVERY

What happens after the procedure

The estimated recovery time is approximately 1 to 2 weeks. The first days after the brow lift is performed, you must wear a bandage to avoid tissue swelling.

Dr Georgopoulos will prescribe special prophylactic antibiotic treatment for protection from infection, and will brief you on your recovery.

04 / INFORMATION & SAFETY

What the possible complications of a brow lift are

The most common side-effect of a brow lift is haematoma, while the oedema may wear off entirely in a few weeks.

Other side-effects may be infection and minor scarring.

At Geoplasty Plastic Surgery, our personnel will provide detailed information about the side-effects and, mainly, how to avoid them.

05 / COMBINED PROCEDURES

What other procedures a brow lift may be combined with

A brow lift may be combined with blepharoplasty or fat transfer in one surgery.

Dr Georgopoulos will advise and guide you responsibly on the ideal combination of procedures that will ensure full face rejuvenation and a younger appearance.
